The Chikusa Times

Where do you find the best coffee in the whole Kathmandu? The answer will be the Japanese Coffee shop at Jyatha which is popularly known as Chikusa Café. Chikusa Café, established in July 19, 1998 and has been serving great coffee from day one. Chikusa doesn't only serve great coffee but also some tasty breakfast. The small yet cozy place is idea for everyone from foreigner to Nepali. Friendly environment, great coffee and food are some of the assets of Chikusa Café. For few Chikusa is their second home. Today, Chikusa has completed its 11th year.

On behalf of all Chikusa Habitue, I, Yudina Poudel take the privilege to congratulate the owner of Chikusa (Mr. Bishnu Thapa and Mr. Ram Kumar Thapa) for completing its 11th year of serving great coffee.

A well known Spanish speaking Chikusa habitue, running a website developing company is 26, today(June 30, 2010). This is the same person who first took to me Chikusa. This person doesn't like to be in contact with anyone in this date, previous year and year before that he switched off his cell phone, didn't come in contact with any of his friend. Lets hope this year would be different. This particular person likes to visit temples on this date.

June 23, 2010 a rainy was ideal to watch The Madagascar Penguins with Bibhu Dai on his brand new Mac. Mr. Rajbhandari was stuck there due to the heavy downpour and what better way to spend the downpour with some “Madagascar Penguins. The picture quality and sound were so amazing; we were struck by the mind blowing picture quality. The laughter during "The Show" was tremendous. Bibhu dai added " There are plenty of these where it came from". Looking forward for another round of " The Madagascar Penguins".

P.S : Don't forget to bring your own popcorn!!!

Also, while returning a vehicle hit Bibhu dai's bike. No casualty though.

Apparently, the chikusa presence on the cyberworld has not been recorded since the beginning of this month. And yours truly was wondering is it the football fever or some other fever that has kept the regular visitors to this place from tapping their fingers at the keyboards...
No post for almost a month... Is that what we're looking for?

Our very own Suresh dai is leaving for Germany today(May 28, 2010) at 7:00 pm to meet his in-laws. As per my conversation with Suresh dai on facebook chat he mentioned he will be staying there for 2 and half months. Said he will be " Ghar Jawai" for the coming 2 and half months. During the stay (i.e 2 and half months) he will be roaming around Germany coolest and nicest cafe. Sipping coffee and missing Chikusa.

Suraj Shakya, a Chikusa habitué is returning back to America today(May 12, 2010) at 1.00 pm. We will miss u Suraj Dai!!

We have to close Chikusa part II due to very expensive rent ! said sadly Vishnu bhai.
